APPROACH AND PHILOSOPHY

I am an approachable and compassionate individual who is passionate about assisting children, youth, and adults in effectively navigating various life challenges while equipping them to discover their inner strength.  I make an effort to embody and express a safe, non-judgmental, and open presence for my clients. I have been offering counselling and psychotherapy from a feminist and trauma-informed standpoint. In my work with clients, I try to instil in them a sense of agency, resilience, and informed consent. My theoretical orientation drives me to identify and skillfully navigate the various power imbalances my clients experience throughout their lives.

In addition, I work from an attachment-focused, systemic/parts approach, which allows me to support my clients in accepting different facets of who they are. This philosophy has led me to envision and model the therapeutic relationship as a sacred, healing, and reparative connection. I place a high value on empowerment, safety, and relationships. By using a relational and reparative therapeutic approach, I constantly strive to create a safe space where my clients can find their voice, reclaim their identity, and find healing.

BACKGROUND & EDUCATION

I am currently awaiting graduation with a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, youth, and children in private practice, non-profit agencies, and various community-based settings, providing in-person as well as online individual and group-based counselling and psychotherapy services. I have had the opportunity to hone my skills under the guidance of esteemed professionals and therapists throughout my academic training and clinical experiences. Trinity Western University's rigorous program has provided me with a solid theoretical foundation, enhanced my clinical competence, relational approach, and assisted me in refining my abilities to provide therapeutic services for a wide range of concerns. Additionally, I can provide counselling services in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
