APPROACH AND PHILOSOPHY

Life presents us with personal and professional challenges, negotiating relationships, striving towards goals, experiencing lack of motivation and direction, managing unexpected obstacles and emotions or simply undergoing transitions in life.  Whether you’re looking to make changes or work through existing challenges, you don’t have to do it alone.

My goal is to create a respectful, non-judgmental and safe space to foster insight into your current life situations and promote meaningful change, increase self-worth and understanding for your personal growth and healing.

I offer an integrative and practical, person-centred approach to understand and support my clients. Therapies I draw from include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where the focus is on helping clients gain insight into their ongoing life stressors and guide them toward different ways to approach these stressors, along with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (T-CBT); Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), which is rooted in a deep belief in the healing power of families; Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), which aims to focus on maximizing the client’s ability to find their own solutions with the right amount of support and acceptance, empathy and understanding; Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), which focuses on helping clients navigate through relationships that may cause conflict in their lives, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which allows focus on constructive and positive language and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than placing focus on the problems.

If you are ready to start your therapeutic journey with me, please feel free to reach out to me via email or telephone.  I will provide you with a free 20 minute phone consultatation.
